Certification

The Northeast Master Logger Certification Program developed its rigorous certification requirements to promote best practices in the wood products industry and position the forest professionals that it accredits at the forefront of their field. The process leading to certification involves intense scrutiny from both field verifiers and the NEMLC Certification Board, and assures that only professionals committed to responsible harvesting are approved.

Context
The changing climate of the wood products industry, and the increasing scrutiny that it has been under, produced a need for Master Logger Certification. Follow this link to learn more about the context from which our program emerged.

Process

Certification Board
The Certifying Board is a multi-stakeholder board whose members have expertise in one or more aspects of natural resource management and rural economic development.
